What is subluxation?
In the simplest terms, a subluxation or misalignment within the spine is when a spinal bone moves out of proper postition which then creates nerve pressure and irriation and leads to inflammation, irritation, and eventually pain. The spinal nerve which is labeled in the diagram below is the most impacted by misalignments within the spine. Nerve pressure leads to decreased function of the organ, tissue, and cell that the nerve is traveling too.
So, how does this affect you? Your nervous system is responsible for coordinating and controling every aspect of human life from hormones and breathing to digestion and even reproductive organs. So when there is nerve interference imagine the nerve as being a highway and the nerve impulse being the cars. If there is an accident on the highway the cars can usually pass through but not at an effcient rate. That is exactly what happends with subluxation when the bone misaligns causing nerve pressure the nerve impulse can pass through just not as efficently.
As a Chiropractor, my job is to remove the misalignments so your body can function as god intended it to. Removal of these subluxation is done through assessing your nervous system to see where there is nerve interferance occur. Then a specific and gentle chiropractic adjustment will be applied.
